Clash of the Titans: Review

This epic story, remade for a new generation has captured the hearts of many. With the 1981 classic being such a hit with the older generation, is it possible for this modern, special FX filled version be able to do the same with the current trending generation?

The answer is quite possibly yes. Starring an array of popular and upcoming actors and actresses, the Clash remake has pulled something out of the bag, and I’m not talking about Medusa’s head. This was one of the first hero stories to come from Ancient Greece and was most probably one of the most famous. It’s Gods, it’s heroes, it’s villains. They’re all well known to a certain extent. With Sam Worthington arriving back from the future from Pandora to play Perseus, son of Zeus and Liam Neeson playing the mighty Zeus, we’re taken on an epic journey for revenge.

“It’s Gods, it’s heroes, it’s villains.”

This 2010 remake is worth the money to go and see, but it looks like these big Hollywood studios are trying to cash in on some of Avatars 3D goodness by converting the entire film to 3D… not really a wise move seeming as the film was shot in 2D and no real time was spent on working out if a certain shot would work in 3D as well as 2D. And it does just feel like a drag and drop convert. The 3D is better in places and lacking where the 3D should be most epic. So thumbs down on the 3D. Thumbs up for the special effects and… well I’ve run out of thumbs so we’ll just move onto the rating.

It’s an epic mythical journey, worth seeing if you want something else to think about other than your mundane Sunday dinner. 3D was poor. Buy a 2D ticket.. on a Wednesday. 6/10.

Ps. Isn’t Perseus supposed to win the heart of Andromeda??!

Catch the trailer after the break.
