It’s 2011 – Here’s what I want to do
Let me start this post off by saying Happy New Year! It’s 2011; which can only mean one thing… Another year has passed us by and be it, at an alarmingly fast pace. As a child I used to think the 6 weeks we’d get off during “The Summer Holidays” were long, but now to me, 10 years doesn’t even cut the mustard at being long. Okay, yes if you wish to be pedantic it’s a decade, it’s quite long! But only in your opinion. Mine is that the last 10 years have gone and I barely even saw it go. I’m a decade older, surely more wiser and if not, who cares!
Well if I’m totally honest, I care. This year, (2011) I want to increase my knowledge by reading more; this includes newspapers and dictionaries not just the thesaurus (I jest). A trip around Europe is in the pipe line at some point, most likely the summer holiday as that’s when all the gang will reform (we sound like a band on the verge of reforming). This trip, I hope, will tell me something about myself because I will be visting some historically thought-provoking places. What it is I mean by this is, places such as the concentration camps in Germany, which have such a devastating past and something I have a link too, it will certainly be something to reflect upon.
This year will also see me turn 21. I know, I’ve only just turned 20, but it’s a big year apparently in the birthdays you must consider special. In a bid to become more knowledgable and well traveled I’d actually like to go to New York as part of my 21st birthday. Mother, Father, if you’re reading this, which I whole heartedly think not, then there’s a hint. I’ve had wonderful visions of going to New York and having some sort of adventure. Not sure what this adventure includes but I’d like to go with someone as I’m sure I couldn’t do this adventure entirely alone, but if it comes to it, alas, alone it must be.
And finally, this year, no this month, no this week I’ve got to prepare for my something that will have to be planned so very meticulously, down to every last detail. It’s a film that will un-doubtably be one of the hardest things I’ve made yet. Not because I want this to be professional down to the communication between my group but even down to the subject matter. It’s something (of which I won’t reveal) that will leave you in thought. Which is why I got into film. To provoke thought amongst those who watched, and for you that very audience to have a positive attitude to what you’ve seen even if what you have seen is ultimately a negative subject.
I’m not one to do new years resolutions. I don’t think what you’ve read above are new years resolutions. But they’re just things I hope will make me a better person by planning on doing things like travelling.
Happy New Year :)

craig – deconstruct it – research and detail how it has been achieved … then try it and list the issues for you..
